La Maison du Cidre
Route de Lann Vrihan 56450 LE HEZO
In the heart of the small village of Le Hézo, on the Rhuys peninsula, the Nicol family, artisan cider-makers for 3 generations, produce one of Brittany’s finest ciders: Royal Guillevic.
We visited the ‘Maison du Cidre’ where we learned a lot about how cider is made. From growing the apples to making the juice. It is also a museum of how cider was made in the past.
We were asked to go to the cinema room to watch a 20-minute film that brings you into the fascinating world of the cider makers of the past. (The actual cider makers are the third generation).
After the movie, we could taste the different ciders in the garden, which we enjoyed in lovely weather.
Before leaving, we found delicious local products in the shop. We bought some bottles of the delicious cider there, and also some jars of their own production of honey.
