Visit of Belle-ile-en-Mer

Belle-ile-en-mer It is composed of four villages: Bangor, Locmaria, Palais and Sauzon,

The Compagnie du Golfe brought us from Port Navalo to the port of Le Palais (Belle-Ile).

Le Palais is the capital of Belle-Ile-en-Mer. It is also the main port of the island, The city is dominated by the Citadel, fortress to which, the famous military engineer of Louis XIV, Vauban, brought some modifications at the end of the 17th century.

We booked the circuit “l’incontournable” and  visited :

  • La Pointe des Poulains (Roche du Chien)  and the Fort of Sarah Bernhardt
  • l’apothécaire
  • Aiguilles de Port Coton

To see as much of the island as possible, we had booked a bus tour of ‘les cars bleus‘. With the guide, we also got all the info about the places visited.

Crêperie “La mère Michèle”

We ate delicious buckwheat pancakes at ‘La mère Michele’ in Sauzon.

A visit to this restaurant is definitely worthwhile!
